Google Unveils Jobs Search In India – Know The Steps & Will This Feature Help Job-Seekers?

Tech giant Google has unveiled new job feature i.e. jobs in India through its search portal. Google has recently launch many new features in India such as improvement in Google maps or its assistant. In another move, the search giant today launched a new feature that will improve the job search experience for users across India.

For this, the company has tied up with numerous head hunting firms and websites like Aasaanjobs, Freshersworld, Headhonchos, IBM Talent Management Solutions, LinkedIn, Quezx, QuikrJobs, Shine.com, T-Jobs, TimesJobs and Wisdomjobs for the offering reported MoneyControl.

Google’s Vice President India and Southeast Asia, Rajan Anandan, said, “there was over 45 per cent increase in the number of job search queries in the fourth quarter of calendar year 2017. Of this, more than 50 per cent search was done through mobile phones”.

He added that small and medium businesses, which are the largest job-creators in the country, often find it difficult to list these opportunities online.

“We want to make discovery of relevant jobs easier and help people find opportunities that are near them… This new job search experience, powered by our partners and our open platform approach, attempts to bridge the gap (between employers and workforce),” Rajan futher added.

Steps To Search Jobs In Google Search Bar

1. Open Google Search and simply type ‘jobs’ or ‘jobs near me’ into a Google search bar and you will see a box labelled Jobs appear on the page. Various categories, job titles, locations type of filters are also available as the search options.

2. You can filter the search using keywords like “jobs near me” or “IT jobs” or anything as per your requirement.

3. Once you click on a job you are interested in, you will land at a page which shows comprehensive information about the posting such as job title, location, whether it is full-time or part-time, and several other details.

4. Interested users can then directly go to the job listing page on any of Google’s partners’ website and apply for the job.

Google has also given an ‘Alerts’ feature where users can get an option to receive email notifications whenever new and relevant jobs matching their interests become available.
